Debuting in 1980 The Shinning is about a family who move up to the secluded mountains for the Winter to be the caretakers of a huge hotel. Soon an evil presence takes hold of the father (Jack Nicholson) who then starts becoming increasingly violent towards his family in what has to be the worst story of cabin fever ever told.
