USS Ashland Attacked by Somali Pirates

The USS Ashland is currently on the Gulf of Aden has been reportedly fired by a suspected Somali pirates while on their way at about 5:00 A.M. in about 330-nautical miles from Djibouti coastline. According to report, the ship has been shoot by the crew of small boat with a 6-crew members which they believed pirates that are waiting for their another new ship victim on the ocean.

USS Ashland returned fire which brought down the pirates small craft and deployed an inflatable boats to bring out those suspected person on their mother ship. They have been brought up to Ashland and treated but according to source, these folks doesn't have any weapons discovered when the crew of USS ship got them on-board.

Furthermore, this U.S. ships was committed to bring out peace and order on the side of pirates attack prone ocean part,
"This is why we are here," said Bruening. "It is so much more than just putting a stop to the illegal activities of only one pirate skiff. It is about fostering an environment that will give every nation the freedom to navigate the seas without fear of attack."
